Meet-up schedule

So, my darlings, the meet-up is nearly upon us and although I'm on vacation in the middle of nowhere, I did get a few requests on when to do things. Here is a first draft of what I think and you all have to help me and tell me what you think.

I will arrive on thursday around 14:00 at the hotel and I hope to meet lots of you there. So I suggest

Thursday, 5th of August:   17:00 first official meet-up at a pub, since the Prince of Wales will be the meet-up at Friday, I'm open to suggestions :-)

Friday, 6th of August:  a morning at the Bay. The shrine, the Dr. Who exhibition, maybe take a boat around the Bay?
I know that the TW meet-up is from 17:00 at the Prince of Wales for something to eat and some cheap beer (the Buffalo Bar seams to be expensive) so I think we could join them. I'm not sure when I have to be at the venue to pay them, we'll see.
After the gig, I would love to sit down somewhere just to talk about it. After all this month I need to know what we all think about it!

Saturday, 7th of August: there are a few things I would like to do here. Just roam around Cardiff and maybe do a little bit of shopping, a little bit of Torchwood sight seeing, and last but not least the castle and our famous pic-nic, which I hope the weather will allow.

Sunday, 8th of August: It's check-out day and I will have to catch a train at 12:50, so maybe a nice long breakfast at a pub would do it?

Like I said, this are suggestions and I would like to know what you think. Start plotting with me!

Oh, and since I have you all looking at this: PLEASE, could everyone who needs a room tell me the dates! I have some reservations made and need to cancel them if we don't need them!

I will hava looksie for a nice pub during the week, maybe I find one in a good distance between our hotels.

As we have talked about I will have a look around for some delis and where to get them for a reasonable prize, for the pic-nic

I'll be there on Thursday, and I should arrive in Cardiff at some point during the afternoon. (Haven't bought the train tickets yet.) Will - as always - have to go food hunting first though.

Friday sounds great to me - in fact, all the other days sound great, too. :-)

I'll leave either on Monday or dash off somewhere madly on Saturday. Not sure yet. Will know for sure after this week.

But seriously, your suggestions sound all very good to me!

I'll arrive in Cardiff on Wednesday and my friend and I will do some sightseeing. Don't know if I'll be there on Thursday evening since I don't want to leave my friend alone who's not really into this fan-thing. Will have to wait and see. You and neurwen and cinderblock42 have my mobile number and I have yours so I'm sure we'll find each other. :)
I'd love to come along to the exhibit on Friday, and a boat tour sounds like a really great idea!! Then we (or at least I) will be there for the gig of course.
Unfortunately we'll leave very early on Saturday already as we have to catch our plane which leaves from Heathrow in the afternoon. We couldn't stay longer because we both have to be back at work on Monday and need a day after our holiday to settle in again.

I will arrive on Wednesday 4th in the afternoon, hoping that flight and train are on time, and will leave Tuesday 10th in the morning.

The program sounds good to me.


I would like to take the boat that goes to Flat Holm Island and the TW sight seeing is a great idea.

After the gig it would be nice to meet the guys, but I don't know if they will want to do that. Surely they will be tired and sweaty. But it would be great if they wanted to meet the hysterical women, even for a couple of minutes.

I was also thinking if we could have a photo group with the band, took by a pro photographer.

I've been to Bute park today, during a really heavy rainshower, it is possible to have a picnic during rain there, there are so many big trees, where some people had picnics during the rain, and they stayed almost dry.
Tomorrow I'm of to Cathay Park to have a look, maybe it is even better for a picnic.

sounds good so far - don't wanna be a spoilsport, but I'm not allowed on boats - but I can walk around during that time, take some pictures and we can re-group afterwards, that's no issue at all.

I was asking in my post today if I should bring a DVD to Cardiff, since the cups are not too heavy I'll pack the laptop 17'' might be okay for watching.

PS as long as there is coffee I'll be ok with every breakfast u wanna drag us to ^_^
4th and I think I'll stay till 8th, was contemplating leaving 7th, but well duh

I hope that I'll catch the 8:30 train out of Birmingham New Street on Friday(landing 7a.m.) which would mean that I'll be in Cardiff around 10:30. Will head down to the Future Inn and try to leave my bag there (guess check in time won't be that early). I'll give you a call then to find out where I can find my fellow HWs.

I'm going to the TW meet up mainly, but I'm arriving at 11am on Friday and heading to the shrine first thing.

Pubs

I found some nice pubs in the City Center, maybe one of those is fine for our meet-up on Thursday.

The first is "Queens Vaults" in 29 Westgate st. the prices look good and the pub not too shabby. ;-)
The other one is "The Goat Major" in High St. just a few houses up from the Prince of Wales " Pub. I 'll leave it up to you which one is mmore suitable. :-)
